ABOUT ME
I believe in the process of change. Change can lead to growth, healing, resilience, and the discovery of untapped potential. My therapeutic approach is grounded in advanced masters-level training as a Marriage & Family Therapist and is informed by client-centered, systems-oriented, and trauma-informed perspectives.
I specialize in working with couples and families who may feel stuck in painful patterns, communication challenges, conflict, life transitions, or disconnection. Relationships can become strained when old ways of coping are no longer effective, and therapy can provide a supportive space to better understand those patterns and create healthier ways of relating to one another.
I believe that even discomfort can serve a purpose. Together, we can become curious about what conflict, emotional distance, or recurring struggles may be communicating within a relationship or family system. My goal is to help couples and families improve communication, strengthen emotional connection, increase understanding, and create more balanced and supportive relationships.
I provide a compassionate, nonjudgmental environment where clients can safely explore challenges, express needs more openly, and work collaboratively toward meaningful change. I help clients identify goals that support healthier dynamics, deeper connection, and greater emotional well-being within their relationships and family systems.
I received my Master of Social Work from Fordham University and my Master of Marriage & Family Therapy from Southern Connecticut State University. I also hold a Drug & Alcohol Recovery Certificate from Gateway Community College and a B.A. from University of New Hampshire.
I am a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (Lic. No. 1848) and a Licensed Alcohol & Drug Counselor (Lic. No. 1169) in the state of Connecticut. I have advanced training in Gestalt therapy through Southern Connecticut State University and am certified in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).
I have extensive experience working with couples, families, and individuals experiencing co-occurring mental health and substance use concerns in both residential and outpatient clinical settings. I have worked with clients navigating relationship difficulties, family conflict, parenting stress, communication breakdowns, reunification processes, and life transitions, including families involved with court systems.
My therapeutic approach integrates structural, strategic, experiential, intergenerational, CBT, narrative, solution-focused, and psychoeducational modalities. I enjoy incorporating mindfulness practices and creative interventions to support emotional expression, self-awareness, and relational healing. My systems perspective allows me to help couples and families better understand interaction patterns, improve communication, and work toward healthier, more connected relationships.
I am a member of the Connecticut Association for Marriage and Family Therapy, the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy, and EMDR International Association.
I am a wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend. Life has offered me many opportunities for growth, and I understand the challenges that relationships and family transitions can bring. I value authenticity, connection, and open communication, and I know how important supportive relationships are to emotional well-being. I also identify as an introvert and appreciate opportunities to step outside my comfort zone and continue growing personally and professionally.
